The Take off Tower
Above is the take off tower pipe line under construction, it can be seen today about half a mile beyond the Haweswater hotel, from here it passes under the mountains and emerges again in neighbouring Longsleddale.
Taken in 1941 with a brim full reservoir, the officials who turned on the water supply, their car is stood here.
The take off tower today, the widows and much of the stone were reclaimed from the Holy Trinity Church, when the water falls very low a series of pipes at three levels could be seen below the tower, here the water runs at its deepest.
