The Boat House

Lord Lonsdale's boat house, a comfortable dwelling with four rooms and a fire place, where one could stay on a weekend fishing trip in style, left is the dwelling and on the right were drying sheds for nets and a tackle room, this was one of two places that sat on the left hand side of the old road travelling south along the valley, the other was Rowan Park farm.

A boating scene from the thirties, seen here are friends of the Lonsdale family leaving the Eastern shore of High Water, it was a popular and most peaceful area of the valley, where they went for some quality time, as there were no roads on this side of the valley, In the background the dwellings of High and Low Whelter can be seen.
